Innaloo is believed to be the Aboriginal name for ‘woman’ in the Amangu/Nhanda language used in the Dongara/Geraldton area. It was chosen in 1927 to replace the original name for the area, ‘Njookenbooroo’, the Noongar name for a nearby water body. More information about the Aboriginal history of this region can be found on the Stirling City website at www.stirling.wa.gov.au>documents

At the turn of the 19th century this region was made available for market gardens and these have been a longstanding feature of the area until sold for housing and commercial development.

The practice was developed in the early 1970s by the late Dr Tony Samaha, an iconic GP who offered genuinely holistic care including general surgery and deliveries. Many of his patients still come to the practice and remember him with great fondness. It was our intention to build upon his legacy in establishing a contemporary practice underscored by the youthful mission statement, ‘Get healthy then get out there and live!’.
